The temperatures range for 75 - 110 degrees F depending on humidity (80 degrees on average). Islands experience extreme heat throughout the year. Because of is close proximity to the Equator the The islands that make up the park were created originally of volcanic debris, thus explaining the rough terrain that consists of many rolling hills. Komodo National Park began being used to protect many more species and in 1991 was declared a World Heritage Site and was recently declared one of the New7Wonders of Nature. The park was founded in 1980 under the main premise to protect the Komodo Dragon while also protecting various marine life that is unique to this region. You can find Komodo National Park at 8.4 degrees South and 119.5 degrees East. Komodo National Park which is home of the largest lizard, the Komodo Dragon, is part of twenty-six islands in Indonesia.
